Our recommendation
Why we recommend Viviana.
Recommended for a US client who wants a bookkeeper who already knows the filing calendar. Six years inside US accounting firms rather than a generalist assistant who has picked up bookkeeping: she has processed high-volume vendor invoices and owner billing statements, performed monthly bank reconciliations, run weekly, bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll for clients with over 100 employees, managed 1099 processing, and prepared monthly and annual financial statements.
On the compliance side she has filed individual and business returns, payroll tax returns, W-2s and multi-state sales tax, and dealt directly with the IRS and state agencies. QuickBooks, Xero and SAP, with Lacerte and ProSeries for returns and e-commerce bookkeeping across Shopify, Amazon and Stripe. Strong fit for a US accounting firm, a construction or property business, or an e-commerce operator who needs the books kept and the filings made.

The assessment
English and writing
Fluent written and verbal English, and unusually well evidenced for an accounting candidate. Alongside her accounting career she has taught English on Engoo since 2018, preparing students across Asia and Europe for IELTS and Cambridge examinations through grammar, writing, speaking and test-taking strategy. That is not conversational fluency — it is the level required to teach the exam. In her accounting work she has communicated directly with the IRS and state tax agencies on behalf of clients, corresponded with utility providers to resolve billing issues, and handled client contracts and invoicing. She writes clearly enough to be trusted with correspondence that carries consequences.
Remote readiness
Every accounting role on her CV has been remote to US firms from Manila, across three employers and six years, which means she has been working US-facing deadlines — payroll cycles, sales tax due dates, year-end filings — from the other side of the world for her whole career. The Engoo teaching has run remotely alongside since 2018. Her toolkit is the right one: QuickBooks, Xero and SAP for the books, Lacerte and ProSeries for returns, Shopify, Amazon and Stripe for e-commerce clients, Excel with pivot tables and VLOOKUP, plus Airtable, ClickUp, Asana, Slack and Microsoft Teams for coordination.
Cultural fit
She is precise where precision is the whole job. Her record is built on the unglamorous disciplines that keep a set of books clean: monthly bank reconciliations, internal audits to find and resolve variances, W-9 and certificate of insurance collection so vendor files stay compliant, and sales tax filed to state deadlines rather than after them. She has also taken on the parts of the job most bookkeepers avoid — dealing with IRS and state agency notices, handling UI claims, and running multi-state nexus reviews. She completed an MBA in 2025 while working full time, which says something about her appetite for work.
